Privacy Policy
Last updated November 3, 2026
This policy explains what Futavel (“we”, “us”) collects, how it is used, and the choices you have.
What we collect
Owner account: your name, email address and how you sign in (Apple, Google or email and password). Right after you first sign in on a device, you enter your date of birth to show you’re 18 or older. We don’t keep or send the date: the device only remembers whether the check passed.
Restaurant information: its name, logo and colors, and what you add to the app: menu items and photos, recipes, inventory, shifts, tasks, issue reports, replies and notes.
Team information: the names, usernames, roles, groups and shifts of the people you add, the profile pictures people choose to add, and the hourly pay rates entered for labor costs. Passwords, including an inventory password, are only stored scrambled (hashed), never as typed.
Money: the sales and cost numbers you type in or bring in from Stripe, and what percent you set for the net pay estimate. If you connect Stripe, your read-only key stays in your phone’s keychain and is never sent to us; only daily totals of sales and fees are saved.
Training: which training lessons each person has finished, the training videos the owner or managers add (video files or links), and who has watched each video, and when.
Time clock: when the owner turns it on, the times each person clocks in and out, any fixes a manager makes, and hours people ask a manager to approve (with the reason they give, if any). If the owner turns on the clock-in PIN, each phone keeps only a scrambled (hashed) copy of each person’s PIN; the PIN itself is never stored, and it is never sent to us.
Tasks: who did what and when, the steps they ticked off, their answers to a task’s yes or no question, notes, and photos people add to show a task is done.
Checklists: which end-of-shift items each person ticked off and when, and any note about what was left.
Messages: what people send each other in Messages, who each one went to, how urgent it was, who has opened it, and the answers. A private message’s PIN is only stored scrambled (hashed).
Purchases: your plan, when it started, renews or ends, and how many locations it covers. In the iPhone and Android apps, Apple or Google takes the payment. On the website, Stripe, our payment processor, takes your card and billing address (to work out sales tax) on its own secure page. We never receive or store your card number or security code.
If you allow notifications, your device’s notification address (a push token), so Futavel can send you alerts. It stops being used when you sign out or delete your account.
Face ID, Touch ID and fingerprint sign-in are handled by your device. Futavel never receives or stores a face or fingerprint; the device only tells the app whether it matched.
Location, only if your restaurant turns on the clock-in location check: the restaurant’s location (set by the owner or a manager) and, each time someone clocks in, whether they were at the restaurant or about how far away. We never save where a person is, and nothing checks location at any other time.
We do not collect your contacts or advertising identifiers.
How we use it
To run Futavel for your restaurant: show schedules, tasks and issues to the right people, deliver messages, send notifications, and manage your subscription.
To keep the app secure and to answer your support requests.
We do not sell your information, show ads, or track you across other companies’ apps and websites.
Futavel does not record your screen, taps or typing (sometimes called session replay), and it has no advertising trackers. Its fonts and icons are built into the app, so using it doesn’t contact Google Fonts or any other font service.
To keep the app fast and working, it sends performance and error information to Expo, the company whose tools it is built with: how long the app and its screens take to open, errors that happen, the app version, the device model and system version, and a random number that identifies this install of the app. It doesn’t include your name, your email or what’s in your restaurant.
Emails
We email you about your account, such as a link to confirm your email address or to reset your password. These are part of the service.
Any email with news or offers from us says it’s from Futavel, includes our postal address and has a link to unsubscribe. We only send them where the law allows, and with your permission where the law requires it. If you unsubscribe, we stop within 10 business days; account emails continue.
Where it is stored and who sees it
Your restaurant’s information is saved on the device you use Futavel on. When online sync is turned on, it is also stored on secure servers run by our hosting provider, so your team can sign in on their own phones.
If you use Futavel in a web browser, it is saved in that browser too, so it opens quickly. On a computer other people use, sign out and clear this site’s data from the browser when you finish.
If you work at a restaurant that uses Futavel, your employer decides what it keeps about you here, such as your schedule, hours and pay rate, and is responsible for how it uses that. Please ask them first about your information.
People on your team see what their role allows. Employees see schedules, the menu and only their own tasks (and their groups’); managers can also edit them and see issue reports and timesheets. The owner chooses whether other managers see pay rates, labor costs, timesheets and other settings. A message goes only to the people it was sent to, and the owner can see it too.
If you use Siri with Futavel, Apple handles your voice under its own privacy policy, and Futavel only receives the words as text, to do what you asked. So Siri can answer when you ask how things are going, a short summary is kept on your phone until you sign out.
Service providers that help us run Futavel, such as our hosting, sign-in, notification, app performance, payment and subscription providers (including Apple, Google, Expo, Supabase, Cloudflare, Stripe and RevenueCat), process information only on our behalf.
To keep bots out, signing up and signing in can include a quick check by Cloudflare Turnstile that you’re a person. Cloudflare receives technical information about your browser or device to run the check.
This website
Our website has no ads, no analytics and no tracking cookies. Its pages can be read without an account.
If you leave your email for early access, we use it only to tell you when subscriptions open. Email us to have it removed.
The Futavel web app keeps you signed in and saves your work using your browser’s own storage. That is needed for it to work, and it isn’t used to follow you anywhere else.
Cloudflare, our website host, handles the requests your browser sends, including your IP address, to deliver the site and protect it from attacks. If you email us, we keep your message and address to answer you.
Camera, photos and videos
Futavel asks for access to your camera or photo library only so you can add pictures and videos you choose: menu items, your logo, profile pictures, issue reports, finished tasks and training videos. It never records audio or video by itself.
Location
If your restaurant turns on the clock-in location check, Futavel asks your phone for its location only at the moment you clock in, compares it with the restaurant’s location on your phone, and keeps just the result: at the restaurant, about how far away, or that it couldn’t be checked. Your coordinates are not saved or sent anywhere, and Futavel does not track your location in the background.
You can say no to location access. Your restaurant then decides whether you can still clock in (with the timesheet noting it wasn’t checked) or need a manager to clock you in.
Keeping and deleting your information
You can delete items at any time. The owner can delete the account and all of the restaurant’s information from Settings → Account → Delete account.
Deleting your account cancels a subscription paid on the web. It does not cancel one bought through the App Store or Google Play; cancel that in your store account settings.
Copies on our servers, if any, are removed within 30 days of deletion. Stripe and we keep payment records for as long as tax and accounting laws require.
Children
Futavel is made for businesses and is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 where the law requires). We do not knowingly collect children’s information.
Only people 18 or older can have a restaurant account. The app checks this right after you sign in, before a restaurant is set up, and deletes a new account at once if you’re younger. If you believe a child’s information is in Futavel, email us and we will delete it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in the EU and UK, or the CCPA in California), you can ask to see, correct, export or delete your information. Email support@futavel.com and we will respond within 30 days.
Security
We use reasonable safeguards, including hashed passwords and encrypted connections when information is sent online. No system is perfectly secure.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date below and, for important changes, tell you in the app.
